The Journey from Saltwater Contamination to Clean, Fresh Water

In the coastal community of La Ballona, residents faced a persistent challenge: saltwater contamination. Situated near sea level and surrounded by an estuary, their wells were tainted with salt, making it nearly impossible to find clean water for daily use. This issue affected everything from drinking water to cooking and sanitation, deeply impacting their quality of life.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, Live Well Water embarked on a vital project to address this crisis. We drilled a well far from the estuary and coastal influence, ensuring a pure, salt-free water source. This new well provided La Ballona with clean water, free from salt and contaminants.

The impact was immediate and profound. With access to fresh, clean water, families could now use it for all their household needs—from drinking and cooking to cleaning and bathing. The well has transformed daily life in La Ballona, restoring their health and improving their overall well-being.
