Kilaca cemetery water

"Explore how donations turned Kilaca’s nightmare of disease into a story of hope with a clean water well that changed 1,000 lives."

Kilaca cemetery water

In the small community of Kilaca, a cemetery stood at its center, turning the rainy season into a perilous time. As rains poured, the hand-drilled wells filled with contaminated water from the cemetery, leading to a surge in illnesses among around 1,000 residents. This community, home to 300 houses, a hospital, and a school, desperately needed a clean water solution.

Thanks to the generous donations from supporters, Live Well Water was able to take action. We drilled a well on a high hill, far from the cemetery, ensuring a safe and uncontaminated water source. From this elevated location, clean water flowed to every home, the hospital, and the school, transforming the health and lives of Kilaca's residents.

The impact was immediate and profound. The clean water brought an end to the cycle of disease, significantly improving the community’s health and well-being. Children could attend school regularly, hospital patients received better care, and families lived without the constant fear of waterborne illnesses.

This project’s success is a testament to the power of community and the crucial role of donations in making a difference. The well in Kilaca stands as a symbol of hope and resilience, showing how, together, we can bring life-changing solutions to those in need.
